Leonard (Tommy Biondo) is a serial killer. He keeps a scrapbook which contains the writings of his victims, who were forced into recording their own suffering at his hands, along with photographs taken of them. The scrapbook is nearly complete and his last victim, Clara (Emily Haack), will be the final chapter. Clara is subjected to extreme cruelty and humiliation as Leonard imprisons her in a filthy, blood soaked room where he brutally beats and rapes her. As the torture continues she realises that the only hope she has of getting out of the nightmare is to try to influence him through her writings in his scrapbook.

Scrapbook is a claustrophobic, voyeuristic and disturbing film. Not even in the days of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I Spit on Your Grave, etc. has anything come close to being as harrowing and intense as this film. Shot in just 2 weeks on a very small budget, Eric Stanze has created a truly remarkable and powerful piece of work. The performance of Emily Haack is quite outstanding, and Tommy Biondo (who tragically died shortly after filming Scrapbook) portrays a convincing psychopath. There is no way that this film will ever get released uncut in Britain. The sexual violence is extreme and explicit enough to give the good people at the BBFC a fucking aneurysm. One of the finest and most intense films ever to come out of the underground. Recently re-released as a 2 disc special edition, Scrapbook is an essential addition to your collection of extreme cinema DVDs.
