Angela is a 19 year old bulimic, who ran away from home and into a life of stripping and prostitution. Her story is shown through a series of disjointed flashbacks, from a young girl in a family home video to a despondent, wretched whore; "I don't know what's left of me but you can fuck it if you want" she tells an unseen client. Entwined into her tale are the fates of various victims, brutally tortured and murdered by a vomiting psychopath.

Slaughtered Vomit Dolls is packaged as the next level in extreme cinema, and whilst it is quite disgusting in parts and the gore is very well executed, it's also, surprisingly, a story of some depth. The main talking point is obviously the vomit, and it certainly flows freely. In one scene, a particularly disagreeable chap uses a severed limb to make himself puke into a beer glass, then drinks it... and pukes again, then drinks it. Not nice at all. The initial nausea felt by witnessing such gross regurgitating does diminish after seeing the umpteenth upchuck, even the amazing hurling into a skull cavity scene loses some impact with the sheer amount of gushing hurl on display. I don't know, maybe I've just seen too many gore flicks and have become desensitised. Having said that, I did feel the old gag reflex threaten to kick in once or twice. The gore scenes are handled extremely well, the segment involving one victim's eyes is decidedly unpleasant, and the guitar scene takes sick humour to the limit. The constant jarring, discordant soundtrack and distorted voices adds to the unease; a migraine inducing cacophony. Ameara LaVey, who plays Angela, is quite exceptional. Her ability to convey emotions goes way beyond what is usually seen in independent films, the combination of the directors vision and her acting skills raise this movie to another plane.

Lucifer Valentine’s approach to advertising his film online has made him a few enemies, but he obviously couldn’t give a damn, he’s a canny businessman. A lot of people were expecting (hoping even) that his paean to puke was going to be at best a rather tasteless novelty item. The director of fan-boy’s favourite, Murder-Set-Pieces, adopted a similar annoying marketing stratagem, the difference here being that Mr. Valentine’s work is actually rather good

The intention of the director has obviously been to produce a work of intense, shocking horror; and he has succeeded. Slaughtered Vomit Dolls is a distressing, vile piece of work, with some truly obnoxious imagery, but it’s also a deeply disturbing story of a young woman and her descent into the abyss. This is a nightmarish mindfuck of a movie, a surreal journey into the most abhorrent filthy black depths of human nature.
